When I was younger, I used to say fall was my favorite season. Don’t get me wrong, fall still has a very special place in my heart, but there’s something about summer I just love. It could be the nice break from school, or all the warm weather activities there are to do. But whatever it is, somewhere along the way it made me answer the “what’s your favorite season?” question differently than I had in previous years.

I believe my mind changed about last year. Most likely I came to the realization because all of my favorite things to do happen in the summer: going to the beach, hiking, reading outside, picnics, and literally just anything I could ever want to do. This, combined with the fact that I am chronically cold, makes summer the perfect season for me. One of the things I looked forward to the most though in the summer months that I can say only happens in June/July is the fair. So far, a year has not gone by that I have not gone to a fair of some sort. I love everything about them, from the greasy fair food that is definitely overpriced, to the slightly concerning rides I find myself going on each year even though I say I never will again I love the fair. But it isn’t just the fair itself that makes it so fun for me, it’s the amazing people I go with each year that truly make it a blast. My family and friends make it so memorable and always convince me to go on the scariest rides, and I even go on the spinny rides even though it is not a great idea considering I always end up throwing up immediately after.

If you would have asked me a few years ago what my favorite season was I would have said hands down fall. After thinking about it more recently though, I feel the summertime is by far my favorite, because it’s the season I’ve made some of my best memories with the best people.
