TGS is always seeking women to join our team who, first and foremost, believe in the mission of the magazine which is:

to provide a creative platform where teen girls can express themselves, gain publishing experience, and build confidence,

as well as in the vision, which is that

This Girls Story will be a solid, established resource for self-expression of teen girls and creatives, through which they learn to define their voice, and build skills to help them become strong, articulate, compassionate leaders.

All operations at TGS are digital. Though the organization was incorporated in Illinois, volunteers are welcomed nationwide.

Adult Volunteer Opportunities

We are in need of volunteers in these areas of expertise:

  • Donor development/Grant Writing

  • Legal Issues – working with minors

  • Marketing/Outreach

  • Human Resources

  • Volunteer recruitment

  • Finances/Bookkeeping

  • Operations manual

  • Program Development

  • Publishing

  • IT/Web

TGS EDITORIAL TEAM:

Put your amazing grammar and editing skills in action. Select content to publish in the magazine. Proof and copy edit to publish a fabulous literary magazine filled with girl-generated content. High school girls can apply for the committee by clicking the button below.

EDITORIAL TEAM ADULT MENTORS:

Share your writing, art, photography, editing and/or publishing skills to guide teen girls in the publication of This Girls Story magazine.  Make an impact in just 2 hours a week!

BOARD OF DIRECTORS:

Share your experience and connections, participate in determining the direction of This Girls Story, and help bring awareness, guidance and funding to the organization.

TGS is very much in the building stage.  We are all learning together as we go, so anyone considering joining us, please come with your ideas, a sense of adventure, loads of patience and a willingness to jump in and help wherever needed.  We believe this endeavor is needed and has great potential for great good!
