About a year ago when I realized I only had one year left on the team, I wondered what it would be like writing my last blog. I quickly shrugged that thought off, thinking: “I don’t have to think about that now, there’s still a whole year left…”

Well now I’m sitting here writing my very last blog for This Girls Story and I can’t help but feel a bittersweet kind of emotion. I never thought I would get to be a part of something so important but I’m glad I did get to be a part of it. TGS has impacted me in so many ways. I’ve gotten so much experience and learned so much from my time here. When we first decided to create the magazine I wondered what kind of impact it would have on people. Seeing all of the new girls on the team and the amazing work we get to feature in this magazine has shown me the impact.

I am so happy I got the opportunity to work with so many talented individuals who truly make me a better writer and creative in general. I am also glad I got to read and look at so many impactful submissions during my time on the team. Helping to create a space where girls can express themselves has been such an amazing experience. Even though I’m aging out, I hope to stay close to This Girls Story as a founding member and supporter.

I am excited to see what the future has to offer and even more excited to see how This Girls story will continue to grow. Four years ago, I remember sitting down to write my very first blog. I wondered if I would ever run out of inspiration. I can safely say, I did not and neither should you. No matter what life throws at you, keep going and take that risk. It could be one the best decisions of your life.
