Seasons

There is a lot you can learn about someone just by asking them what their favorite season is. Some people like fall or spring because of the gradual transition between the harsh heat/cold of summer or winter into the next season. And others enjoy the harshness of winter or summer because of various activities or feelings that are brought up as a result. For example, many enjoy the winter season because they relate it to winter holidays or getting time off from school but personally, I can’t stand the harsh cold (at least not here in the midwest) my favorite has more recently become Summer.
Summer to many seems like the obvious choice because of all of the fun Summer activities. Some might think this would be the obvious choice for my favorite season, not just because of what I just stated, but also because of the fact that I am chronically cold. (Yes, I am a 90-degree weather lover!) But my love of the season honestly goes much deeper than the heat.
What makes Summer my favorite is the relaxation it allows time for. During other points in the year, I have been known to be over-stressed. This mainly has to do with school and the various things I do. From September-May, my schedule is essentially booked, leaving very little time to relax or enjoy the little things in life. Because of this sad reality, from June-August I try to block out time for myself only focusing on the things I enjoy or really want to do. This Summer, I am extremely excited to do several activities that include going on a vacation with my family, reading my favorite books with my sister, going to the beach (hopefully multiple times), and even a little bit of preparation for the upcoming year.
Whenever I meet someone, I like to ask what their favorite season is and why, because I think knowing this can give insight into what kind of person they are. But all in all, whether you are a Fall, Spring, Winter, or Summer person like me in any season you should find ways to avoid the stress of life and enjoy each season of life you are in even if it isn’t your favorite.
