My First Week of Senior Year Through My Camera Roll

I started my senior year of high school a week ago! I can’t believe it’s already started, and I feel like I’ve been here a month already. It’s been weird experiencing the same place I’ve been for the past four years, but for the last time. Instead of trying to sum it all up, here’s how my first week looked in my camera roll.

I had my first Stinger (school newspaper) meeting and decided to take a quick candid picture. We had to do a bunch of presentations in classes, and I was worried people wouldn’t show up. But it turned out great!

My school made a ‘scan into lunch’ rule. Every lunch period we need to scan in with our ID’s. This was the first day of implementation for the rule, and I couldn’t believe this was my real life. It felt like TSA but with a shorter wait time. This is the first year we’ve officially had to scan in everywhere. Before we only had to scan into all classes, and eventually they added gym to that rule as well.

This is my cross-country team and I at our annual scrimmage game! During the first week of school, before the actual football season starts, the school hosts a scrimmage between the football players on the team. They force all the fall sports to run around the track to be ‘introduced’ to the crowd. Although it’s annoying, it is kinda fun to be all together to kick off the school year.

In AP Environmental Science, we had to identify different plants in the prairie behind our school. A lot of the plants are native, which I think is pretty cool. After we identified plants and wrote in our notebooks, we got to pick up trash, cut invasive plants, or just explore! ‍ ‍

I quickly took a picture of my speech tournament schedule during our first meeting! Even though I was late to our first meeting because of Stinger it was actually really fun because the team stayed afterwards for 20 minutes just talking about random stuff. It reminded me how much I love our team! I’m team captain this year, and it feels weird to be the ‘leader’ when I’ve had a very unconventional speech experience.

My friends and I took a selfie before we took our team pictures for Cross Country! We’re all seniors this year, and it was surreal taking our senior banner photos. Normally we had practice before our pictures and I wouldn’t really care what I looked like. It was weird I actually had to get myself ready because I know my senior banner will be seen by hundreds of people when they enter our stadium.

It’s so weird to think that I’m a senior, but I’m excited to see where this year takes me! Honestly it’s been super fun already, and we haven’t had our big senior moments yet. It's such a cute idea to add pictures to your blog, and I'm sure it will be great to look back on!
