One of the hardest parts about summer for me is not comparing myself to other people. 

Yeah I said it, sometimes I do compare myself to other people.

Once you get into high school, I feel like life becomes a whirlwind of emotions, especially in May. For some, it’s their last month of high school and being a ‘kid’ while everyone else has to worry about AP tests and finals.

I hate people who only do things for their college applications. 

Hate is a strong word but I think in this case it applies quite well.

Winter is HARD. Especially when you live in Illinois and the weather sucks. 

Here are some of the things I’m looking forward to.

I feel like people care too much about their looks all the time. Whether it be online or in person, all I hear about is people hyperfixating on every inch of their body:

I don’t usually watch TV shows, only because I can’t handle the commitment to watch something. But when I get interested, I can’t get off my couch.

As December starts, the worst three weeks of the year come barging in. The weird three-week period after Thanksgiving break and before winter break. Also known as finals season.

No one prepares you for how distance feels when it comes to making friends.

Junior year is no joke. 

Am I being dramatic? Perhaps. But it’s honestly true.

One thing about my family is that we tend to forget things sometimes. We have a lot of ideas we want to pursue, but sometimes they just pass by.

By the time I was in the seventh grade, COVID was behind us, and as a society, we could be “normal” again. That year, I had to get used to middle school and the way it actually ran, as well as the extracurriculars that came with it.

“There's nothing to do at home” is a phrase I’ve told my parents for years. Meaning I have nothing to do at home, and being outside would be much better. When I was younger, I would be bored being at home.
